Smoky Chicken Skewers with Garlic Yogurt

Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Skewers
  • 500 g boneless, skinless chicken thighs cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper optional
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper
For the Garlic Yogurt Sauce
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill chopped
  • to taste salt

Method
 

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the chicken pieces with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Toss to coat the chicken evenly.
  2. Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Grill the chicken skewers for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
  5. While the chicken is grilling, prepare the garlic yogurt sauce. In a small bowl, mix together the Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, chopped dill, and salt.
  6. Serve the smoky chicken skewers hot with the garlic yogurt sauce on the side.

Notes

You can soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before use to prevent burning. Serve with a side salad or grilled vegetables for a complete meal.
