Seven Layer Taco Dip

Ingredients
  

For the Dip
  • 1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
  • 1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese softened
  • 1 (16 ounce) jar salsa
  • 1 large tomato chopped
  • 1 medium green bell pepper chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions chopped
  • 1 small head iceberg lettuce shredded
  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 (6 ounce) can sliced black olives drained

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Blend refried beans and taco seasoning in a medium bowl. Spread this mixture onto a large serving platter.
  2. In another medium bowl, mix the sour cream and cream cheese. Spread this mixture over the refried beans.
  3. Top with salsa. Layer the chopped tomato, bell pepper, green onions, and shredded lettuce over the salsa.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded Cheddar cheese over the top layer. Garnish with the drained sliced black olives.

Notes

This dip is best served chilled or at room temperature. You can prepare the layers separately and assemble just before serving for the freshest taste.
