Korean Beef Rice Bowls

Ingredients
  

For the Beef
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger grated
For Serving
  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup scallions sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds toasted

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring, until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the beef.
  3. Divide the cooked rice among four bowls. Top with the Korean beef mixture.
  4. Garnish with sliced scallions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

You can adjust the amount of brown sugar to your preference. For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
