Servings: 4 burgers
Course: Main Course
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

For the Burgers
  • 1 lb ground turkey lean
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
For Serving
  • 4 burger buns
  • Optional toppings lettuce, tomato, cheese, etc.

Equipment

  • Grill
  • Mixing bowl
  • Spatula

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  2. Form the mixture into four equal-sized patties, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Clean and oil the grill grates.
  4. Place the turkey patties on the preheated grill. Grill for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the burgers are cooked through. Avoid pressing down on the burgers with the spatula, as this can squeeze out the juices.
  5. Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill during the last minute of cooking, if desired.
  6. Assemble your burgers with your favorite toppings and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra moisture, you can add a tablespoon of olive oil or mayonnaise to the burger mixture. Ensure your ground turkey is not too lean (e.g., 85% lean) for the juiciest results.
