For the Meatballs
  • 1 lb ground beef 80/20 recommended
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs plain
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove garlic minced

Equipment

  • Slow Cooker
  • Large skillet
  • Mixing bowl

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Roll the mixture into 1-inch meatballs. You should have about 24 meatballs.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the meatballs on all sides over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together ketchup, honey, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic.
  5. Place the browned meatballs in the slow cooker. Pour the sauce over the meatballs.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 2 to 3 hours, or on high for 1 to 1.5 hours, until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
  7. Stir occasionally. Serve hot.
