Ingredients

For the Filling
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning or your favorite blend
  • 1/2 cup water
For Assembly
  • 4 burrito-sized tortillas
  • 4 taco-sized tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup salsa
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup crushed tortilla chips

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Spatula
  • Taco-sized tortillas
  • Burrito-sized tortillas

Method

  1. Cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Stir in the taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  3. Lay out a burrito-sized tortilla. Spread a thin layer of sour cream and salsa on one half.
  4. Top with a layer of the ground beef mixture, shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and crushed tortilla chips.
  5. Place a taco-sized tortilla on top of the filling.
  6. Fold the edges of the burrito-sized tortilla inward, over the taco-sized tortilla and filling, to create a sealed package.
  7. Heat a lightly oiled skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the crunchwrap seam-side down and cook for 3-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  8. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make more crunchwraps.

Notes
