- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whip the cold heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
- Begin layering the trifle in a large glass bowl. Start with a layer of cubed pound cake.
- Add a layer of the cream mixture over the cake.
- Scatter a layer of mixed berries over the cream.
- Repeat the layers: cake, cream, berries, until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of cream topped with berries.
- Chill the trifle for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
You can use store-bought pound cake or angel food cake for convenience. For an extra festive touch, you can add a few blueberries and sliced strawberries on top of the final cream layer to create a flag design.
