Ingredients

For the Cookie Crust
  • 1 package refrigerated sugar cookie dough 16.5 oz
For the Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar sifted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Topping
  • 2 cups blueberries
  • 2 cups strawberries sliced
  • 1 cup raspberries

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Mixing bowls
  • Electric mixer
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Press the sugar cookie dough evenly onto a baking sheet to form a large circle or rectangle.
  2. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Let the cookie crust cool completely on the baking sheet.
  3. While the crust cools, prepare the cream cheese frosting. In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  4. Gradually beat in the sifted powdered sugar and vanilla extract until the frosting is light and fluffy.
  5. Once the cookie crust is completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top.
  6. Arrange the fruit on top of the frosting to create the flag design. Use blueberries for the blue field and sliced strawberries for the red stripes. You can add raspberries to fill in any gaps or for extra color.
  7. Slice and serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

For best results, ensure your cream cheese and butter are fully softened before making the frosting. You can also use other red fruits like raspberries or red grapes for the stripes.
