Ingredients
  

For the Skillet
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes, undrained 14.5 ounce
  • 1 can black beans, rinsed and drained 15 ounce
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 packet taco seasoning 1 ounce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • salsa
  • chopped cilantro
  • avocado, diced

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  2. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes (undrained), rinsed black beans, beef broth, and taco seasoning. Stir to combine.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Uncover and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
