  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips, raisins, or chopped nuts optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

  3. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, raisins, or chopped nuts if you are using them.
  4. Drop rounded spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheets. Leave about 2 inches between each cookie, as they will spread slightly.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are lightly golden brown. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before carefully transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
