Method
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is softened. Drain off any excess grease.
- Stir in the minced garlic, cooked rice, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Stuff the mixture evenly into the prepared bell pepper halves.
- Place the stuffed peppers in the air fryer basket. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the peppers are tender and the filling is heated through.
- In the last 5 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top of the stuffed peppers and allow it to melt.
- Carefully remove the stuffed peppers from the air fryer and serve immediately.
Notes
You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef. Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the filling for a little heat.
